Ok Most people take a break from blogging cause they had a baby...no baby for me but I am back! :)

Ok Well I am back I just kind of stopped blogging so here we go again!  My latest project was a big one.  One day I decided to rip up the carpet and lay wood floors down in my toyroom/suppose to be office/bedroom (it has been up in the air on what we were going to do with our downstairs bedroom for quite a while) so I ripped up the carpet and me and my wonderful children hauled the carpet out of our house.  Then I proceeded to rip baseboards out. Then I installed beadboard about 2/3 of the way up the wall and trimmed it out.  The next weekend I scored some bamboo floors at a yardsale!! So I started laying this floor (I call it wood cause come on...what am I going to say grass floors!! ;)) So I got about half way and the blade on my saw broke and I stop....This project has been hanging over my head FOREVER!! So I decided that enough is enough and I have to get this done... Oh one other huge thing is my intention from the very begining was to checkerboard the floor white and wood, I did it and it is completely awesome.  I am not completely done but here is my progress as of this weekend...It WILL get done and I WILL post after pics!! My oldest daughter Hannah talked me into giving her the room so it ended up purple....which of course is not my taste but sometimes you have to just let a kid be a kid!! The awesome Dresser I scored at Goodwill!

Ok so about 4 months I went to the local goodwill and saw this amazing dresser. So I went home and could not stop thinking about it.  So the next day I went back and prayed the whole way there that it would still be there. And guess what??? It was!!!! so I loaded it into my suburban (trust me not the weirdest or biggest thing that I have hauled in my suburban) came home and immediately started on it.  I got my trusty hand sander out and got busy...then I started the first coat of black paint....and guess what??? I saw that it was gonna look great......then I moved on to something else.  What is wrong with me????? I still loved it but something inside me screams DON"T FINISH IT!!! Anyway, this blog has inspired me to finish a few things.  So I got off my butt and started working on it this week.  So here it is......But let me tell you that my first intention was to replace all of the knobs and pulls.....but in this crappy economic time we are in....basically my husband would kill be if I went and bought 20 new knobs and pulls for the dresser. So I made the old pulls and a few crystal knobs I already had work.......and actually I love the way it came out!!!

Martha Stewart...Pssh!

Ok so I am no Martha Stewart...let's face it this world can only handle 1 person who can do everything...go to prison and completely bounce back!! hahaha actually she is incredibly talented and I wish I was as good as her!!! Maybe someday...minus the prison time of course!

So anyway, the other day I was sitting here looking at some really cute material I had, and wondering what to do with it...then I looked at my chandelier which I dearly love and decided it needed a ruffle....so the pictures are small and kind of hard to see but I made a little ruffle and added it to the bottom of the shade...it is really much cuter in person!!

Ok so I am a total copycat!! I admit it...people can either be pissed about it or take it as a compliment.  When someone copies me I take it as a complimnent, cause they liked what I did.  So that being said I was at someones house the other day and they had the most amazing pillows on there couch. So I became obsessed with making some awesome pillows....so here you go here are a few I have made so far, but I am definately making more.

About me

Ok a few things people should know about me is that I will attempt anything...anything. But... I have a hard time finishing things. I have about a million have finished projects...really almost every project I start I see what it will look like...love it then move to the next project. I get this from my VERY talented father!! so that is something I need to work on and hopefully this blog will help me with that!

A few things I absolutely adore is Shabby Chic, black and white, ruffles, painted furniture, white anything, iron birds, anything vintage or crusty!!, refinishing furniture, slipcovers, photography, chandeliers, sparkle, sewing, painting, hobby lobby, fabric, checker board, thirft stores, antiques, Target, Topiaries (all Kinds), crystal knobs, the list goes on and on....

This is my first blog post ever!! I am creating this blog to share decorating ideas on a flea market budget.  This is my life I love it almost as much as I love my kids and hubby!!  I think to myself someday my house will be finished....but it never will be I constently changing and rechanging and redecorating!!
